First time in the snow!

So we've been in Minnesota for a few days and everything is covered in snow. Nice soft, easily formable snow... We had to go out and play! Keep in mind, this is the first time that 'I' and I have ever touched snow...

And amazingly, we already had these winter clothes from Georgia even though it never snowed while we were there...

So this was our first time in the snow! It was so much fun. I laughed so much watching S and 'I' play together. I held R while he slept.

Next year will be even more fun, R will be old enough to play too! :)

Road trip to our new home!

We made it! 

It's a bit chilly but not as bad as we expected :)

We left Georgia on Friday and drove to St. Louise as our half way stopping point. We made sure to say a prayer for a safe trip before we left. We're getting better about remembering this before we leave rather than once we're on the road.


I love when we stumble across something fun when we get off a random exit. When we stopped for dinner, we happen to be in Metropolis, IL.

                                                                                                                                                 

Then we finally got to St. Louise. We were able to get a great hotel right next to the Arch. Super exciting! This was our view!

We had a plan to stop every two hours to feed R, change diapers and to make the trip a little more relaxed. It was a great trip. Traffic was practically nonexistent and the roads were well plowed the whole way. It was  better than we could have hoped for.

So that's it. Now we're in our hotel room relaxing. S starts work tomorrow, we tour some apartments on Tuesday and Wednesday we enroll I in school. And in the meantime, we'll be searching for good deals on winter essentials and getting to know our new home.

New Beginnings

Wow!
I know I haven't been on here in quite sometime. Life gets busy and things get forgotten...
A lot has happened.

I had a baby! Another son, little R :D

'I' turned eight and got Baptized <3

And in just four days, we are moving from Georgia to Minnesota! I've been disappointed with the lack of snow these last few years here, but now I'm scared of the amount of snow I'm guaranteed there! I grew up in Florida, I like warmth! Wish me (and the little ones) luck that we can make it to summer without freezing to death lol. Although I'm sure 'I' will love playing in the snow. He's already planning a snowball fight with dad :)

If anyone reads this, I am looking forward to sharing our upcoming adventures with you. I promise to try to get on here every week, or at least whenever something exciting happens :)

Oh, I made homemade syrup for some waffles the other day if you're interested.

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup butter
-over medium heat combine brown sugar, water and vanilla. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. Add butter. Continue to stir until butter is melted.
-Store in a jar in the fridge.

It'll be a bit runny (not nearly as thick as store bought) and the butter will kind of settle on top, just stir a little before using. Supper yummy :)
